Nearly 2 years on... Is this the AWO's 10th year? I recall 1997 being mentioned a while ago. I think this will be the AWO's year.

lol, on and off for 10 years though. It was gone for like 4 years during the time of NMW, so it hasn't been a constant 10 years.
The history of the AWO was posted somewhere... let me find it for you...
AWO History:
With so many E-federations in the World, it’s hard to find one so enriched with history as the Attitude Wrestling Organisation. It’s also hard to find one that’s lasted as long, even if the road has been bumpy and there were times when the AWO was non-existent. And so this history will not detail every activity that the AWO has been a part of in all its years, but rather serve as a reminder of some of the more defining moments in it’s lifespan so far.
The Beginning...
The AWO opened in the year of 1997, as hard to believe as that may seem, by President Trevor Macinal (real name Darren). Details about this era are sketchy, as there are few people remaining in the E-fedding world that were around at this time. One thing is for sure however: He must have been doing something right.
The Invasion...
The AWO had been running smoothly for some time, when in the year of 2000 or 2001, they were attacked and invaded by a rival federation, XFL (Xtreme Federation Leaders). After a hard fought battle, the AWO triumphed in a huge 12 man Hell in a Cell match, where XFL tried every dirty trick in the book (even inventing some) but in the end failed. Out of it, AWO scored several of XFL’s high profile wrestlers, including Hardcore Kid and Scruffy Dog (who defected before the match), who would both go on to individually hold almost every title belt in the federation simultaneously. The new wrestlers brought on new life to the AWO, able to help sustain it for ages to come, with the help of the pre-existing AWO superstars, Cheap Shot, Spaz, Inferno, Fonzeica, Michael Evans, and more.
The Closure...
In the year of 2002, the unthinkable happened. After years and years of Darren running the fed, he decided it was time to let go. Waning roster numbers and a lack of free time were to be the end of the AWO. With the AWO closed, most members said their final goodbyes, and went their separate ways. Some have never been seen again. But then… there were the others.
The Stable...
Not content with letting the AWO die after so many years, a group of wrestlers banded together and joined another federation, known as the NWM or New Millennium Wrestling federation. Here, they created a stable to represent the AWO, of the same name. Here, the AWO, as a heel stable, dominated the NMW for around a year, keeping Cheap Shot as the NMW World Champion and the whole time not letting the world forget about the AWO. But like all things, and not unlike the federation itself, the AWO stable was eventually split apart, both from the outside and within. And it was finally thought that the AWO would at last rest in peace.
The Rebirth...
And then finally, in mid-2004, it happened. The former President of the NMW returned to the federation with some shocking news. He had bought the AWO rights off Trevor (legitimately, Darren had given his consent) and took back his arena from the NMW that was stolen from him by the then president Josh Williams. With no arenas to fall back on, the NMW was destroyed, and the AWO was back.
And now, after several small breaks to make the AWO as good as it can be, the AWO is back and with a force. With President Shay Semmens behind the wheel, a lot has changed since the beginning… but the passion that drives the AWO remains the same.
And now all that’s left… is the future.

Thanks for the history lesson Shay.
I've read as much as I could on this board and the old NMW board.
I can't wait for the future.

And I've been here since 2001... How very frightening. I might just post my 7th RP as a way to celebrate my 7th year... :-D

What a great history. I hope that it stays around for as many years.

Well we've got a lot of AWO/NMW faithfuls (Polowy(s), Bond, Maverick etc) so with a few more this place may never die.
I'm looking forward to the proper reopening too though. I'm thinking it will still only be 1 event per fortnight, with 1 PVP every second month (so 6 a year) even when we're full time.
Those of us that have been here for a while sometimes find it hard to start up, and the extra week for RPing helps build storylines and adds depth to matches that would otherwise seem important. That's the only reason I initially considered the idea of changing from 1 event per week, and I'm liking the idea more and more every time I think about it, so I'd say we're definately gonna be doing it that way.
Anyway, hopefully we can get around to that in the next couple of months.
