Ok, it has been brought to my attention by someone recently (someone not currently wrestling for us, but that's beside the point) that he could demand a match in the AWO with one hand tied behind his back against an opponent he dislikes. This got me thinking. Since there are no set rules for such a handicap match, anyone could make one. I could ask for a blindfold match against Bond, and beat him with RPs, and absolutely shame Bond as he loses to a blindfolded man.
But this to me, sounds stupid. If you actually want to be in a handicap match, well you're going to be in a handicap match. (And I'm obviously not referring to 2v1 handicaps etc).
So the following are the new devious handicap rules I've decided upon, to stop people from using this technique as a quick path to glory.
Obviously we've never had matches like this before, but this is solely to prepare for the future (plus, now we can do them if we want).
One Hand Tied Behind Back Since you're only working with half your hands, you'll also only be working with half your roleplays. I will only read exactly ONE HALF of your roleplays when deciding if you've won the match. If the amount of RPs you do falls onto an odd number, I will read half of one (eg, you do 11 roleplays, I will read 5 and a half). You have no choice over which roleplays I read, and you won't know which one's I've read either. You just have to hope they were your best ones.
Blindfolded Trying to make a mockery of someone by fighting against them blindfolded? Good luck. For this stipulation, I will not read ANY of your roleplays on the roleplay board. The only RP that will be valid for the match will be the one you send in to be included with the results. This RP has a 1000 word limit, as all 'in-results RPs' do, so you'd be hoping it was the best 1000 word RP you've ever done, or that your opponent hasn't RPed more than once, if you want a chance to win.
I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Icon, you've managed to make a horrific, monster mash, with extreme violence into a civilized match up, by putting it inside a cell. How DO you do it?

Can't say I wholeheartedly agree with this.
I think it should work more like the old NMW/AWO system for titleholders, and their 5% advantage in every match where their title was on the line. Saying "only half your roleplays" are getting read is going to either make someone flood the boards with worthless shit in order to get his numbers up, or else discourage anyone who's in that position into not putting enough effort in to win. And as far as the blindfolded rules, why bother roleplaying for your match at all, save the one you send in for the show?
I think instead, you should always be reading all roleplays involved in a show. In the event of a one hand tied handicap match, cut down their final numbers by 25% out of a set rating scale or whatever. For a blindfold match, by 50%. This encourages everyone to still put in the extra effort, without making it an impossibility.

The idea was to put a stop to such matches being made in the first place, Mike, not to make them an entertaining spectacle. Imagine if YOU were new to E-wrestling, and in your first match Mav beat you senseless in a blindfold match, simply because there was nothing to stop him. It would be an impossibility to recover your pride from that in any future RP fueds.
The % idea would have worked with my old system on selecting winners, but it would be almost impossible with the new system. And since the new one is far more efficient and a lot less rewarding to simply quantity of RPs (also why massing the boards with completely rubbish RPs will never work) I don't wish to go backward to the old way.
If you get a blindfold match, you are meant to lose, and are most likely being punished by it. It wouldn't be expected that you'd RP for the match at all, obviously, since it wouldn't be counted toward it. Although consider this, I never said other people couldn't RP to interfere for you. If you get a hand-tied-behind-back match, well, you can still win, assuming the opponent is at least one tier down the chain from you. As I said, posting 100 RPs in this scenario won't work, because under the new system 50 rubbish RPs are worth exactly that: rubbish.

I guess all I'm saying is that it takes away a good portion of creative freedom, in certain instances. For example, say Cheap Shot was still champion, and was to tell me that the only way he'd ever grant me a title match is if I wrestled it with one hand tied behind my back, or with a blindfold on. By the physics of wrestling, I'm not going to just get stomped into the ground if I'm the babyface, I'm going to put up a good fight and possibly win because that's how pro wrestling works. There should be no match geared to MAKE you lose.
I guess its situational.

Ahh but say you're Mike Polowy and you're the champion. Say that Cheap Shot returns, and challenges you to a World Title match with a hand tied behind his back. Probably a bad example cause I can't see him beating you, but what if he did? Humiliation. No one should be able to choose stips such as these.
Also, as for the 5% advantage rule for Champions, I'd forgotten about that. I don't think I'll be continuing it in AWO. It existed because I wanted to make titles really worth winning... but that got a bit out of hand. After all, how long was Cheap Shot the champion? I think it's better for the fed if the titles change hands a bit more often. And besides, if you wanna win the World Title, you'll still gonna have to earn it. For example, right now it's mine, and beating me shouldnt exactly be easy, especially if I go into the match putting in 110% effort which you haven't seen in a while. Tbh, I'm having a little trouble RPing against Ice Rock cause Scruffy doesn't hate him, and also cause I closed the window half way through my latest RP (*cry*) but I still don't expect to lose...

I guess there's just a difference between a match used as punishment and a match used to create hype.
I think there ought to be a choice. For example, say Scruffy Dog (heel, for this example) tells The Mike Effect that if he wants a rematch for the title so bad, he can have it. But to win it, he's gonna have to do it with one hand tied behind his back. Yes, it's an underhanded heel tactic, but by the laws of wrestling physics The Mike Effect stands a good chance to either have a good match and hold his own, or even WIN the match. It's a matter of how you're looking at the booked match.
All I'm saying is that there should be exceptions to the rule, even if it's just a matter of two guys PMing you and letting you know they wanna use such and such a gimmick but still have the results tallied as if it was a normal match or something.

The example your using, with wrestling physics, isn't entirely accurate. Scruffy Dog Vs Mike Polowy handicap match would be a beating. The difference is, in WWE when these stips are used, the person who isn't handicapped is always a wrestler not in the same league. For example, Cena was blindfolded against that Iraqi guy some time back. If he was handicapped against Triple H, I think you'll find the story would have been quite different.
